Empowering Plant-Based Living
Gracie’s Mission
At Gracie’s Health & Wellness, our mission is to empower individuals and families with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to take control of their health through food. We believe that nutritious, plant-based meals can be delicious, affordable, accessible, and life-changing — especially for communities facing food insecurity or chronic health conditions.

Why Plant-Based?
We follow the Power Plate approach developed by the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), which focuses on nourishing the body through fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes. Our classes help participants understand how plant-based foods support healing, disease prevention, and overall wellness. Whether you’re managing a chronic illness or simply wanting to live a healthier, more energetic life, we teach how food can become your greatest tool.
What We Teach
Through hands-on cooking classes, online demos, and one-on-one consultations, we guide you step-by-step in preparing flavorful meals that support long-term health.
Participants learn:
- How to cook without added oils
- Flavor-building using spices and herbs
- Budget-friendly meal planning
- How to shop smart in food deserts or on tight budgets
- Ways to adapt cultural dishes into healthier, plant-forward versions
- How to nourish your body after a diagnosis such as heart disease, diabetes, or cancer
Serving the Delta & Beyond
Gracie’s Health & Wellness is especially committed to supporting individuals in the East Arkansas Delta, where food insecurity and limited access to fresh, healthy ingredients can make wellness feel out of reach. Our classes are designed with these challenges in mind — teaching practical methods for eating well even with limited resources.
A Heart for Community
We believe health is not just an individual journey — it’s a community effort. Many of our classes and resources are designed for families, faith groups, community organizations, seniors, parents, youth, and anyone seeking a supportive, uplifting environment to learn and grow.

Gracie’s Story
For most of my life, I struggled with diets. I tried almost every plan imaginable and could lose weight quickly, but I could never keep it off. Those diets taught me how to shed pounds — not how to truly change my lifestyle or build a healthier relationship with food.
My turning point came the year I turned 50. It was the most difficult year of my life outside of losing my mother, who passed away at age 50 from hypertension and stroke. With a family history of high blood pressure, diabetes, and stroke, I lived in constant fear that I would be next. My stress level was at an all-time high, and eventually I was diagnosed with hypertension myself. I knew something had to change. I needed a sustainable, healthy way of living — not another temporary diet.
That’s when I began learning about whole-food, plant-based nutrition. My journey started over ten years ago when I completed the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) 21-Day Kickstart Program. From there, I explored the Hallelujah Diet, Forks Over Knives, The China Study, Dr. Dean Ornish’s work, and many others. When I finally committed fully to a plant-based lifestyle, everything changed. I lost 70 pounds, resolved my hypertension and high cholesterol, and experienced a level of health I had never known before. I even discovered a new love for cooking — something I never enjoyed until I saw how vibrant, colorful, and delicious plant-based meals could be.
As a Food for Life Instructor and a Health Minister with Hallelujah Acres, my mission is to help others experience the same transformation. I want to show people that eating well doesn’t have to be complicated, time-consuming, or bland. With simple, affordable, and nourishing meals, it’s possible to enjoy great food, lose weight naturally, prevent disease, and manage existing conditions with confidence.
Living in a rural community with food deserts and high food insecurity has strengthened my passion to serve. I understand the challenges of finding healthy options, and I am committed to teaching practical skills that make plant-based living accessible for everyone. If my journey can empower someone else to reclaim their health and improve their quality of life, then every part of this path has been worth it.
